OUR APPROACH

We believe that when children feel safe, included, and truly seen, they flourish. That’s why our approach to early education is grounded in meaningful relationships, inclusive practices, and hands-on, play-based learning. Every day, our classrooms come to life with curiosity, laughter, and discovery - guided by teachers who truly know and care for each child. We take the time to understand how your child learns, what excites them, and where they need support, so we can nurture their growth at just the right pace. From social-emotional skills to early academics, we’re here to help your child build confidence, independence, and a lifelong love of learning - all in a warm, welcoming environment that feels like a second home.

INCLUSIVE EDUCATION IN EARLY CHILDHOOD

“Educating the mind without educating the heart is no education at all” - Aristotle

At ADE, inclusive education isn’t just a value — it’s the foundation of everything we do. We believe that every child, regardless of background, learning style, or developmental needs, deserves to feel a deep sense of belonging. Our classrooms are welcoming, flexible spaces where every child is seen, supported, and celebrated for exactly who they are. Teachers at ADE are trained to respond to each child’s unique rhythm — offering the right support at the right moment to help them participate fully and grow with confidence. Inclusion in early childhood isn’t optional — it’s essential. These early years shape how children see themselves and others, and when they learn in environments where diversity is embraced, they develop empathy, resilience, and self-worth. For us, inclusion isn’t a program — it’s a promise to create a warm, respectful environment where all children can thrive with compassion, curiosity, and joy.

OUR PRINCIPLES

Our program is based on five principles, backed by the most current research in early childhood education and Quebec ministry requirements.

EVERY CHILD IS UNIQUE

Our educational team is highly skilled and trained to respect each child’s individuality and own pace of development. Our educators apply their specialized knowledge in child development to their classroom practices.

CHILDREN ARE ACTIVE AGENTS OF THEIR DEVELOPMENT

Our classrooms are designed to encourage child-led and natural learning, with the guided support of their educators.

CHILD DEVELOPMENT IS A HOLISTIC & INTEGRATED PROCESS

Learning takes place across all areas of development, at different points in time. We focus on promoting all domains of child development: social, emotional, moral, cognitive, language and motor (physical).

CHILDREN LEARN THROUGH PLAY

Our program allows children to have many opportunities for free play and structured activities, individually or in a group setting. The daily routine is set up in a way that encourages a healthy balance of free, structured, active and calming play.

COLLABORATION BETWEEN SCHOOL & PARENTS TO ENCOURAGE CHILD DEVELOPMENT

A strong relationship between school and home is key for a child’s healthy development and successful integration into the preschool program.

OUR STANDARDS

ADE has developed program standards in line with research-based best practices in early childhood development and education. Program standards are implemented and used to ensure the highest quality educational and therapeutic approaches when working with young children.

RELATIONSHIPS

We prioritize strong, respectful relationships between children, educators, and families. Through consistent, nurturing interactions, we help each child feel secure, valued, and part of their community—building the emotional foundation for lifelong learning and belonging.

PROGRAM &
CURRICULUM

Our curriculum is thoughtfully designed to support the full development of each child—socially, emotionally, cognitively, physically, and linguistically. It follows clear learning goals aligned with Quebec’s MFA standards and is delivered through engaging, play-based and thematic experiences that spark curiosity and creativity.

TEACHING

Our educators are more than teachers—they are observers, guides, and co-learners. With continuous training and planning tools, they adapt their approach to meet the evolving needs of each group and support meaningful learning for all children, every day.

ASSESSMENT

We use observation-based tools like the Child Observation Record (COR) and group tracking to monitor each child’s development. These assessments help us tailor learning experiences, engage families in meaningful conversations, and ensure every child receives the support they need to thrive.

HEALTH & SAFETY

Children’s well-being is our top priority. We follow and exceed all health and safety regulations, promote nutrition and hygiene, and create clean, organized spaces where children can play and grow safely—both indoors and outdoors.

STAFF COMPETENCIES, SUPPORT & ETHICS

We invest in our educators by providing clear standards, hands-on training, and ongoing professional development. Our staff embody the values of care, respect, and collaboration, and are supported to uphold the highest ethical standards in early childhood care and education.

FAMILIES &
COMMUNITY

We believe families are partners in the learning journey. Through open communication, family events, and collaborative planning, we build strong relationships that honor each child’s background and connect learning between school and home.

LEADERSHIP & MANAGEMENT

Our leadership team ensures smooth operations, strong staffing, and clear policies so that each center runs efficiently and equitably. We support our directors and educators through coaching, systems, and a shared commitment to quality and care.

CENTRE FACILITY

Our environments are purposefully designed to support exploration, safety, and organization. From calming classroom layouts to engaging play yards, every space at ADE reflects our dedication to creating beautiful, functional, child-centered learning environments.
