Your baby is quickly learning about the world around them! It is normal for your child to alternate between wanting independence, and relying on a caregiver for comfort. Your baby is ready to develop new relationships with warm & welcoming caregivers. This means that it is the perfect time to enrol your child into a preschool program! In this group, we promote language skills by sharing stories at circle time and singing songs & poems throughout the day to help with transitions. Your baby is ready to learn the alphabet, numbers, and concepts of big & small. These newly acquired skills will help them later on with reading, writing and math!

We are ready for the twos and threes, an exciting time in your child's life! Your child is ready to start doing things on their own - and usually prefers it this way. It is really important to let your child start helping you with small chores around the home, such as cleaning up their toys. Your toddler’s vocabulary is quickly growing and they are starting to understand the notion of quantities, like bigger and smaller! It is important to use full and rich sentences when speaking to children at this age so that they can model appropriate behaviours for language and communication. Our program promotes critical skills that further language development, social integration and developing positive group behaviours.

Your child is ready for the transition into our junior pre-k class! In order to support each child to make their way into the “big” class, we have established a transition classroom which mimics the schedule of the pre-kindergarten classroom on a smaller scale. This small group of about 8 children allows the teacher to evaluate each child’s strengths and challenges. This gives each child the extra attention they may need in various areas before entering the pre-kindergarten program. This transition classroom places an individualized focus on each child, allowing them to focus on specific areas of development, such as literacy or fine motor skills.

Welcome to the pre-kindergarten classroom! Here, your child will learn meaningful skills and behaviours that will support his or her transition to kindergarten. Kindergarten is a big deal for preschoolers, it can be both scary and exciting! This is the first time many children will be in a formal school setting, usually much larger in size than previous childcare settings. Each child is celebrated for his or her individuality and is encouraged to share their own ideas contributing to their classroom. Our bilingual curriculum covers important and exciting themes such as, Earth & the Environment, Sciences, Culture & Community, and Drama & the Arts. Literacy (e.g. pre-reading/writing & phonological awareness) and Numeracy (e.g. counting, calendar, problem solving) skills are at the core of the curriculum, and integrated into every lesson.
